José Luis Tejada Sorzano

(La Paz, 1881-?, 1938) Bolivian politician.Minister of Finance (1917-1919), projected the monetary unification of Latin America.From 1931 he held the vice presidency, and in December 1934 he became president due to the resignation of Daniel Salamanca.With his actions during the last months of the Chaco war (1932-1935), he caused the discontent of several military commanders and was overthrown by a military coup led by Colonel Busch (May 17, 1936).
