Franz Lachner

(Rain, 1803-Munich, 1890) German composer and conductor.He was educated in the Viennese environment of Schubert and Beethoven and was a Kapellmeister at the Mannheim court and conductor of the Munich opera.His classical-oriented work includes operas, symphonies, suites, and chamber and sacred music.
