Fray Antonio de Guevara
Fray Antonio de Guevara published his Golden Book of Emperor Marco Aurelio (1528) clandestinely in Seville, which It was intended to be a proposal to the Emperor Charles V on the monarch model.A year later, this work became a doctrinal book and exemplary of the perfect way of ruling, and was translated into several languages.
Despite what it may seem (due to the analogy with Machiavelli), Antonio de Guevara can be considered a still very medieval author and reluctant to the changes and innovations introduced by Renaissance humanism, as described He concludes from reading works such as Family Epistles (1539-1542) or Court Disdain and Village Praise (1539), which were highly successful in their time.
