José Luis Tamayo

(Guayas, 1859-?, 1947) Ecuadorian politician.Lawyer, deputy, senator and Minister of State, he succeeded the President of the Republic (1920-1924), Baquerizo Moreno.His mandate was characterized by the boost given to the Ecuadorian economy (cocoa exports, light industry), which enabled the growth of the middle class and the development of cities.
