On August 11, 2014 the Marin County police reported the death of the actor at his home in Tiburon (California).

According to the press release provided by the police office, the police department received a call at around 11:55 in the morning (local time) in which he was informed of the appearance of an unconscious man who did not breathe in a house in the town of Tiburon.

Although there were no causes of the death and the police opened an investigation, the first information indicates that it would be suicide by suffocation.

Before his death on August 11, 2014, Williams had been in the month of June at the Hazelden Addiction Treatment Center, located in Minnesota , in order to enroll in a program to maintain and reaffirm the sobriety with which I had been living for almost a decade.
