Enrique Lafuente Ferrari

(Madrid, 1898-Cercedilla, 1985) Historian of Spanish art.He was a professor at the Complutense University and the San Fernando Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid.He is the author, among other works, of Brief history of Spanish painting (1934 and 1953), of Spanish painting of the s.XVII (1935) and studies dedicated to Velázquez (1943, 1944), Goya (1948, 1978) and Zuloaga (1950).He dealt with theoretical and methodological issues in his book The foundation and problems of the history of art (1951).
