Johann Friedrich Fasch

(Buttelstedt, 1688-Zerbst, 1758) German composer.He was a student of J.Kuhnau and founded a Collegium musicum in Leipzig, one of the first societies to organize public concerts.He wrote operas, oratorios, and symphonic and chamber music, much appreciated by Bach, who transcribed some of his suites.
