Johann Neander

(Göttingen, 1789-Berlin, 1850) German theologian.A Jew by birth, he converted to Protestantism.He was professor of ecclesiastical history in Heidelberg (1811) and in Berlin (1813).His main work is Universal History of Religion and the Christian Church (1824-1852), which covers up to the s.XV.
