José Antonio Pavón

(Casatejada, 1754-Madrid, 1840) Spanish botanist.He also studied chemistry and pharmacy in Madrid.Collaborator of Hipólito Ruiz in the Botanical Garden since 1772, in 1777-1788 they participated in a scientific expedition to Peru and published the work Flora peruvianae et chilensis. Author of the Botanical Dissertation on the Tovaria genera , Actinophyllum, Araucaria and Salmia (1797).
