José Piquer
(Valencia, 1806-Madrid, 1871) Spanish sculptor.Considered one of the most prestigious figures in Spanish sculpture of his time, his style evolved from neoclassicism (relief of the Sacrifice of Jefté , 1832) to romanticism ( San Jerónimo , 1845).He was director of sculpture at the Academia de San Fernando (1844) and chamber sculptor of Isabel II (1858).
