Frank O.Gehry
In 1962 he founded his own company, Frank O.Gehry&Associates.Although he was initially influenced by Le Corbusier, his work very soon showed an attitude totally opposed to the forms of architectural modernism in vogue, particularly with regard to his obsession with "clean" materials and monolithism.
On the contrary, Gehry liked to use ribbed metal, plywood and other recycled and low-cost materials, especially in his urban designs (Frank O.Gehry House, 1979), as well as emphasizing the human scale of buildings and divide the total volume into small meaningful units, respecting contextual integrity (Vitra Museum, 1987).All of this led to a highly personal expressive language, although not averse to the use of the most modern technologies (Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao, 1997).
