Auguste Ducrey
(Naples, 1860-Rome, 1940) Italian dermatologist, born in Naples in 1860 and died in Rome in 1940.He was a professor at the University of Pisa and discoverer, in 1889, from Ducrey's bacillus ( Hemophilus ducreyi ), a gram-negative and facultative anaerobic bacterium, which causes a sexually transmitted disease known as soft chancre, which causes the appearance of painful ulcers and soft base.
