(Kinnaird House, Stirlingshire, 1730-London, 1794) Scottish explorer.In 1790 he published the account of his journey through Africa, in which, after traveling through Abyssinia, he found the sources of the Abyssinian Nile (Blue River), and mistakenly believed that he had reached the true sources of the Nile.
