José Sixto Verduzco
(Zamora, 1770-Mexico, 1830) Ecclesiastic and Mexican patriot.He was part of the Supreme American National Board (1811-1813), chaired by Ignacio López Rayón, and was one of the signatories of the Act of Independence of the Congress of Chilpancingo (1813).Arrested by Viceroy Apodaca (1817), he was amnestied (1820), and after the Republic was proclaimed (1823) he was appointed general commander and senator for Michoacán.
