Joseph Paxton
(Milton Bryant, 1801-Sydenham, 1865) British architect.Self-taught, he made, for the Universal Exhibition in London in 1851, the famous Crystal Palace, built entirely of glass and metal joists; with this work he became one of the forerunners of modern architecture.He also practiced traditional architecture.He was also an architect-landscape architect; his works are various private and public gardens and parks.
