Alex La Guma
(Cape Town, 1925-Havana, Cuba, 1985) South African writer.He fought apartheid following the example of his father Jimmy La Guma, one of the great figures in the fight against the racist regime, and became one of those responsible for the Colored People's Congress. He also collaborated with the progressive newspaper New Age , which, along with his political activity, earned him numerous arrests, imprisonments and house confinements.One of the three novels he wrote, The stone country (1965), is dedicated to his prison experience.
