John Talbot

(John Talbot, Earl of Shrewsbury; 1384-Castillon, 1453) English military.Son of the Earl of Talbot, he fought in Wales and Ireland.He excelled in the wars against France, being taken prisoner in Patay (1429) and conquering, after his liberation, Clermont (1434) and the Pays de Caux (1436).After returning to Ireland (1445) and Normandy (1448), he died fighting in Gascony.
